Indiana single-trip oversize permit fee
$20 / $30 / $40; OW $20 + $0.35–$1.00/mile
Those are the general Indiana single-trip oversize/overweight permit rates. The total depends on the route. We do not calculate routes. We publish what the state publishes.
DOR fee PDF, oversize single-trip (5 days):
| Oversize single trip | Fee |
|---|---|
| Up to 95’ in length, 13’6” in height, 12’4” wide and legal width | $20.00 |
| Between 96’ and 110’ in length, 12’5” and 16’ wide or 13’7” and 15’ tall | $30.00 |
| Up to 95’ in length, 16’ wide, 15’ tall and 80,000 lbs. | $40.00 |
DOR overweight single-trip:
| Overweight single trip | Fee |
|---|---|
| Vehicles up to 108,000 lbs. | $20.00 + $0.35 per mile |
| Vehicles over 108,000 to 150,000 lbs. | $20.00 + $0.60 per miles |
| Vehicles over 150,000 lbs. | $20.00 + $1.00 per mile |
Oversize and overweight: “Whichever of the calculated oversize or overweight fees is greater.” The DOR PDF prints “per miles” on the 108,000-to-150,000 line. We are not silently correcting that wording.
DOR vs IAC — not silently fixed
DOR PDF (Last Revised: July 2026): “Vehicles over 120,000 lbs. are charged a $10.00 executive fee.” Superload is a load that exceeds any of: 15 feet high; 17 feet wide; 110 feet long; 200,000 lbs.
105 IAC 10-1.5-3(a)(5) (filed May 16, 2025) names $25 for an executive fee. The same rule’s table (h) prints $10 executive. Superload width trigger is 16' in the IAC definition. The official IAC HTML fetch was a JavaScript shell with no fee text; this discrepancy is from the research file. We are not silently reconciling DOR and IAC.
Example, not a quote: 100 assumed miles at the printed $0.35 per mile on a vehicle up to 108,000 lb is $20.00 + $35.00 = $55.00. The desk runs its own miles. We do not take origin or destination.
