Idaho single-trip oversize permit fee
$30 / $33 + 49-1004(2) per mile
Those are the general Idaho single-trip oversize/overweight permit rates. The total depends on the route. We do not calculate routes. We publish what the state publishes.
IDAPA 39.03.01.107: “Special permits issued for non-divisible, overweight vehicles and/or loads will be charged a road use fee as set forth in Section 49-1004(2), Idaho Code.” “Following Permits are thirty dollars ($30): i. Oversize only, single trip.” “Following Permits are thirty-three dollars ($33): i. Overweight/Oversize or Overweight (non-divisible) single trip.” “Mileage and road use fees for single trip special permits are calculated and collected at the time of issuance.”
Idaho Code 49-1004(2) start rates, quoted from the statute:
| Number of axles | Column 1 start (lb) | Column 2 start (lb) |
|---|---|---|
| 2 | 40,001 | — |
| 3 | 54,001 | — |
| 4 | 68,001 | — |
| 5 | 80,001 | 131,001 |
| 6 | 97,001 | 148,001 |
| 7 | 114,001 | 165,001 |
Statute: “Permit fees for column 1 shall start at four cents (4¢) per mile and increase four cents (4¢) per mile for each additional two thousand (2,000) pound increment up to the weight indicated in column 2. Permit fees for column 2 shall start at one dollar and two cents ($1.02) per mile and increase seven cents (7¢) per mile for each additional two thousand (2,000) pound increment.” “Vehicles operating at weights less than the starting weights per axle configuration listed in column 1 shall be charged four cents (4¢) per mile.”
Example, not a quote: 100 assumed miles at the printed column-1 start of 4¢ per mile, plus the printed $33 overweight single-trip admin, is $33 + $4.00 = $37.00. The desk runs its own miles and its own 49-1004(2) increment. We do not take origin or destination.
