That is the Iowa single-trip permit fee for one movement, from one origin to one destination. A round trip is $70.

Iowa DOT price table: “Single or Round Trip — 35.00 single / 70.00 round”

Iowa Code 321E.14(1)(e): “Thirty-five dollars for a single-trip permit issued pursuant to section 321E.9.”

Iowa DOT also prints: “Effective Oct. 27, 2025 - Single trip overweight permits may have a ton fee pursuant to legislative changes passed with Iowa HF 979 to Iowa Code 321E.” 321E.12 is single-trip registration, not the permit: “The fee for single-trip registration is four dollars per ton exceeding forty tons.” That registration charge is a separate statutory line when used. The posted permit fee is $35.

This page covers general single-trip permits.
